May 01 (Morning)
Well, congratulations to me and Corrie! We are celebrating the birth of our latest, a daughter, on the 29th! Therefore, I did not go to work on Thursday or Friday so no biking.
However, Corrie and baby were back yesterday, and as a newborn, she of course kept us up all night. Therefore, once the daylight showed up, I figured I'd better not waste it laying in bed listening to a baby... :) So, I suited up and went out on an easy ride just east of Juniper. It had just finished raining, which made the loose sand and rocky trails nice and soft and grippy, but it didn't rain enough to get muddy.
I spent about 45 minutes riding around in the little section between Juniper and Rose Hill, trying new trails and finding out where they went. It was an easy ride, just enough to get the heart rate up but no enough to get me huffing and dying. I found a really, long and steep trail that I attempted (ended up walking), and then I just hung out at the top. It was pretty neat, with views of all corners of Kamloops (except not quite Dallas/Barnhartvale).
Had to get a shot with the bike in it... :) Well worth the climb up!

Looking over Valleyview to Mount Paul and Mount Peter
Looking over downtown, Brock, North Shore, Westsyde and everything in between
It was fun and I may do rides like this each weekend as it isn't too much physically, but enough to get the blood pumping. Anyways, now I have to head back into the hospital to be with Corrie and the baby as they were re-admitted this afternoon due to high levels of biliruben. Yay, I love hanging out in hospital rooms...
