Oops, I forgot to do the journal deal-thing for Friday! Oh well, I’ll try and see what I can remember about my ride home…
It was a windy ride, I do remember that much! However, the wind really only played a part on section from work ‘till about Summit drive, and then through the Juniper stretch.
I had some good success coming over the little rock “wall” on the trail just at the top of the trail coming up out of Peterson’s Creek valley. I managed to bounce the bike up and over it nicely, but bailed too soon (gave up mentally way too soon). As I bailed, I realized had I attempted to crank it right then, I just might have made it over! So, we’ll continue to try this and see if I can make it soon enough.
I took the two gulley trails down, which was a blast to be sure! Through Juniper I took the main trail, but then detoured around on the lookout single-track trail before coming back around and finishing off the ride. This is becoming my new favourite way through Juniper, as I get to crank out a large gear for a stretch, but then I get some fun single-track to finish still. I did meet up with a guy on a 10 speed with drop bars and everything. He had jeans on with a long sleeved plaid shirt… You meet all types here in BC!
