Physically I felt really good again. The weather was a warm 17/18°, lots of sun and no clouds. As such, the trails were quite busy! I think there were 5 cyclists that I saw, and I have no idea how many joggers/hikers! Lots of dogs too…
The brakes were VERY good today already. Solid, quiet, reliable. I had more control today than I’ve had in a long time, so I will for sure be getting all my replacement pads from this outfit on eBay! Even if shipping was rather slow…
The creek crossing was good, and I made it over the root but not the climb over the east bank again. I did have a VERY good effort, though! I decided to try the long, straight and steep climb out of the valley and I actually made my best distance yet, right up to the fallen tree on the left side. Pretty cool! I cleared the rock wall again, and the rest of the ride was pretty good. I took my usual two gulley trails down to Frolek’s lower road, and had a good pace across to the pipeline section. I did NOT have a very good effort on the final hill there, though… I think my worst attempt in a long time!
However, going through Juniper was a great, fast ride (minus slowing down for other hikers, joggers or bikers). I had a great sprint up the winding single-track to the look out trail as well, super fun!
